Blackwater River Park Near Pensacola is a Must See.
Attractions at Blackwater River Park Near Pensacola Are Great.
This is the only Pristine sand river remaining in the United States. This is very unique, so much so that the State of Florida bought the area and set it aside as a
state park to be enjoyed by all. Here you'll find snow white beaches and sand bars highlighted by wildflowers, magnolia, and river cedars. The average river depth is two and a half feet with an average speed of five miles per hour. The kids will have a great time swimming here. The water is fresh, clean, and cool.
Among the attractions that Blackwater River Park offers is scenic beauty. Watch the river roll slowly along
from that favorite shady spot. Cast your hook and line in the water, sit back, and wait for the fish.
No need to be rushed here.

Offered also is a year round canoe, kayak, and tube rentals. The rental covers round trip service
from point of entry to exit. With no white water in the river, it is perfect for the whole family.
They offer gruop rentals for churches, scouts, and others. Don't forget the sun screen. To make

This park is great for fishing, swimming, camping, or just being lazy. There are shaded campsites a short
walk from the river plus a picnic pavillion.
The park also has many nature trails for that outdoor adventurist. Stuff your back-pack and take a hike
through the natural settings and view some wildlife. My
wife snapped this picture of me as I was finishing a short walk down one of the trails. Pets are also welcome here.
I live about a mile from this river and have enjoyed it for many years. I love to go fishing here and have caught my share of nice bass. The Blackwater River itself empties into Blackwater Bay near a community known as Bagdad, Florida. Go to the mouth of Blackwater River and fish the grass for some bass, or in the bay for speckled and white trout.
If you are a handicapped person and would like to see the beach
here, it is wheelchair and scooter friendly. My wife, as you can
see, is enjoying her visit to the park. She traveled to the beach
to view the scenery. So can you.
Blackwater River and I-10 are not far apart.
To get to Blackwater River Park, take I-10 to exit 31 then go north on Hwy. 87 to Hwy.90. Right on 90 for five miles then turn
left at the yellow and red Blackwater Canoe rental sign. The canoe rental is 1.8 miles down on
the right. Continue on to reach the park.
