Visit Flounders Chowder House While at Pensacola Beach

A shot of Flounder's Chowder House entrance and boat.

Flounders Chowder House is located on Pensacola Beach left of the intersection after you pass the toll booth. You will notice a large fishing boat sitting in the parking lot. Out back is a kids play area and then you come to the water's edge of The Sound.

The building is filled with antiques for their customers to enjoy. The boat was put to rest in 1998 after 52 years of service, but is in shape to go around again being fully fitted.

Above the Marlin Bar at you'll notice the 980 lb. world record Blue Marlin. Back on the beach there is a 15 foot raft used by cuban refugees, 27 to be exact, as they crossed over from Cuba. The antiques present cover everything from a New York Convent stained glass to actual Santa Rosa County moonshine stills from the 30s an 40s.

A must see for the antique lovers, while your meal is being prepared. Voted by The Pensacola News Journal's Annual Polls as one of the best on the gulf coast. When you visit the beach be sure to bring along some extra clothing to change into after swimming. There are also showers to wash off. Then stop by for a bite to eat and some relaxation. Afterwards you can go outback and watch the kids play or look to your left at dusk and watch the sunset. There's grouper, mahi mahi, red snapper, yellow fin tuna, and shellfish cooked on an oak wood grille. So mark this one down as a place to visit on your next beach outing. 800 Quietwater Beach Road Pensacola Beach, Florida 32561 Santa Rosa County Telephone: (850) 932-2003
