GCBMA Bluegrass Music

I've been involved in bluegrass music for years, and Pensacola's GCBMA bluegrass attractions are second to none. With local shows being staged regularly it's easy to find some fine music.

Since these shows are family oriented you are encouraged to bring the kids.

For Fiddlin Around

The first Friday of the month features live music at Barrineau Park. This is a small community north of Cantonement, Florida.

Take Hwy.29 north from Cantonement for a few miles, go past Fran's restaurant( on the left ) and take a left at the caution light.

Go about 4 miles, around the big curve and turn left at the first small paved road. About 1/4 mile stop at the old school house.

On the fourth Saturday of each month there is a show featuring two of the local bands.

These are all held at the Pensacola Junior College Milton campus in the student center. Admission is $4.00 for a great evening of entertainment.

If you play an instrument, bring it for some excellent jam sessions after the shows.

The second Friday of each month features a show at Fidelis, about 20 minutes north of Milton, Florida on Hwy. 87.

This is held at an old school house turned community center. Bring your instruments and join the jams in the classrooms. There is no charge here for the show. Show starts around 7pm, but come early as they serve some good food here before the show.

There are pickers of all levels and ages. Don't be uneasy about your ability. When I first started, I could barely put two notes together in a group of people. Now I really enjoy the experience, so can you. Come on out.
