The Gulf Coast Arts Festival
The Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival November 4 - 6, 2011 at Seville Square in Pensacola, Florida is a special time for
some artists and hopefuls. They bring their creations to display and be judged against others. They all
hope to do well and receive the recognition they desire.
The applicants are required to submit three slides of their work along with one of their display. The
judges have no names attached to the slides, but choose them by their works. Out of some 600 applicants
they will choose 200 to be invited to display their works.
Categories including ceramics, drawing, fiber/leather, glass, jewelry, mixed media, oil/acrylic,
photography, printmaking/graphics, sculpture, watercolor and wood will be displayed. This is quite a
selection of fine works to view. You may wish to bring along your camera.
Children’s Art Festival will be held in nearby Bartram Park. This is a free hands-on event for the kids
to enjoy. There will be face painting, clay play, a flower shop, button creations, sand art, sidewalk art,
and a balloon man. Also includes glitter, glue, sequins and the likes for children to make things like
masks, crowns, magic wands, and jewelry. The Children’s Festival is open Friday for children with special
