Pensacola Historical Museum Displays the Past

For over thirty years this Pensacola Historical Museum has been located in downtown Pensacola. Its attractions
are for the young and old to enjoy. Bring the kids along to see how history shaped our
city.
Housing two floors of exhibits there is plenty to see. The first floor is for exhibits that
are changed every six months. Permanent exhibits are located on the second floor. These
include: Army/Navy Gallery, Maritime Gallery, Multicultural Gallery, Native American Gallery,
and Forts/Civil War Gallery.
The history of the museum began in the Dorothy Walton House.
Closed due to World War II, the
museum wouldn't reopen until 1960 in the Old Christ Church. After thirty years at this spot,
it was moved to the Arbona Building which was built in 1866, a rather historical location itself.
As its name implies, this is a museum of history. If history interests you then a visit here would be a great time. See first hand how things happened in this city and the results of such.
If you have kids, bring them along for a day of learning and exploring. They can get a feel for things back when all was much simpler in life. Myself, when I was a kid, I loved checking out places like this. So much to see and everything was different inside. I could move from one display to another and there was always a little more to see.
The museum is located at 115 East Zaragosa Street, Pensacola, Florida 32502;
open Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 - 4:00 pm. Bring your camera for some photos.
