A Visit to Pensacola Parks will make your day.

When visiting this area, there are many Pensacola Parks that you will enjoy very much. I have included several with a description of each and some photos. So be sure to plan some of your time to see as many as you can. Oh yeah, bring the kids and the camera!!

Big Lagoon Park view from the tower.

Big Lagoon State Park: Enjoy the nature trail or walk along the boardwalk for a great view. There is also a tower for a better view.

Perdido Key Park goin' surfing.

Perdido Key State Park: Bring your camera for some spectacular shots. You can also fish, swim, lounge around, or be alone on a secluded stretch.

Blackwater River State Park view of beach and river.

Blackwater River State Park: This park is unique in that it has the only pristine sand river in the United States.

Beach Sign Share the Shore

Gulf Islands National Seashore: With a number of old forts for you to visit along with nature trails and bike paths, you can make it a full day.

Theseparks are here for all to enjoy. Take advantage of them next time you want to get away. Take the kids, or grandkids out to a park and let them see how nature works. Some of these parks have nature walks with signs along the way that tell a story or what wildlife is there.

If you would like to take a long walk, there is room for that as well. The trails are marked for the newcomers.

Perdido Key is a great place to visit. The beaches are very white and secluded. There is surf fishing and surfing as well.

Big lagoon park is more of a nature setting area. They do have a waterfront boardwalk and boat ramp. The water there is more salty than brackish. If I want to go for saltwater slecies, this is a spot I consider.

The Gulf Island National Seashore, or GINS, is a very large place. It is located along the beach for miles. The part on Santa Rosa island is nice and the kids would love it there.
