Come Join Pensacola Kids for More Fun and Adventure

Pensacola kids enjoy many outdoor activities. Pensacola has long been and still is very kid friendly. There are so many fun things to do it’s hard to know where to begin, so I believe I will start with the number 1 kid attraction, the beach.

Pensacola kids love their beach time. If you have small kids, then Pensacola sound along Quietwater Beach would be a great choice for swimming. The water is very calm and there is no shortage of sand for sand castle building. Be sure to bring along the digging tools, chairs, coolers with cold drinks, maybe a picnic lunch, or snacks, sun screen, beach towels, and no glass. A good place to go would be at Portofino or behind the 7-11. To get to Portofino, cross the toll bridge ($1.00), go to the red light, drive straight through, go about 2 miles. It will be the tall buildings that stand alone. The 7-11 is directly left of the red light.

Older kids, this is your call, can enjoy the beach along the gulf. There are no regulations on age, just keep close watch and take them to a life guard area. Pay attention to the beach condition flags. If you didn’t bring along the items you need, they can be purchased from vendors at the beach, however, they could be a bit more expensive.

Pensacola kids mix fun with education at the local museums. Children's Hands-on Exhibit at the T.T. Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum The museum has a hands-on exhibit for kids ages 4 – 8 Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. The cost is $3.00 per child or $20.00 for groups of less than ten. The time duration is one hour with a fee for extended periods. They wish for all Discovery visitors sign in a t front desk. For more info, please contact Jim McMillen at (850) 595-5985 x112. Besides this program, the museum has so much more to see, at no charge I might add. To check it out click here:

If you like theme parks and so do your kids, then Sam’s Fun City is a place worth visiting. It is a theme park and water park combined. They have rides such as go karts, train rides, plus rides for smaller kids. There are water slides and there is a game room also. Bullwinkle’s café is there for a snack or two. Take I-10 to Hwy. 29 exit, go south about a mile, will be on the right. For more info visit this page.

For the older kids, and even adults, there is Fast Eddie’s at the corner of Beverly Pkwy. And “W” St. Their main theme is go karts and go kart racing. If you love this type of activity, then Fast Eddie’s is the place for you.

For Pensacola kids, a day in nature is a great day. For a day in nature for the entire family why not try a canoe or float trip. At Adventures Unlimited you can find both. They are located on Munson Hwy. about 10 miles northeast of Milton, Fl. You will see a sign on your left after you enter the community of Springhill.
