Where beauty abounds, Perdido Key Park attractions should be saved. Bring your camera and take this park home for future generations to enjoy. Follow the boardwalks to the beach to swim, sunbath, or just watch the waves break as the Gulf of Mexico shows its beauty.

Perdido Key State Park Beach Scenery

This area is part of a barrier island chain providing natural protection for the mainland from the storms that come ashore. This island is some 247 acres with white sand beaches and dunes covered in sea oats.

Whether swimming or sunbathing you're sure to enjoy and long remember your trip to this area. Before you leave you can enjoy the public showers to freshen up a bit. There are also picnic tables so pack a lunch and maybe some friends.

Man fishing at Perdido Key State Park

Fishing is another favorite here. The local folk come here for some surf fishing so be sure to pack along the gear. When surf fishing, it is best to have a rod at least 8 feet long. It will help with the casting. Bring along some buckets for bait, food and drink, and maybe a seat.

Alone at Perdido Key State Park

If a secluded beach is what you like, there is plenty to discover here. Drive along the beach road, pick your spot and get lost in the silence.

Wildlife can be seen here so that camera will come in handy. You may see a few dolphin playing along the beach where pelicans are always on the move. I've always enjoyed watching them dive into the water for fish. Perdido Key is a community near the park.

The park is located 15 miles southwest of Pensacola, Florida off state road 292. See you there.
