Fishing fromThe Swamphouse Marina

Swamphouse Marina

For fishing and boating recreation on Escambia river, The Swamphouse Marina is a good place to start. Located near the mouth of Escambia River makes this an ideal place for your boat launch. The river offers great freshwater fishing if that is to your liking. If not, you can head out in Escambia Bay for some saltwater action.

Escambia River upstream towards power plant.

When going up the river I usually started in White's Creek. In the picture you will notice the power plant, this creek runs along side that plant. It has very good bass fishing and also panfish. When you've reached the end of White's Creek you will be back in the river. This river is several miles long so try up stream in the many creeks that spill into it. If you take to the bay for saltwater fish you may wish to start at the river mouth. Here you may catch any number of fish that may include white and speckled trout. Once in the bay look south and you will see the train trestle and the I 10 bridge. In the center of these you will find the water deeper because of the barge traffic to the power plant.
